Tomaree Head to Anna Bay

May 17-19, 2024

(2 Nights with a 1 Day adventure)

This epic 27km walk begins at the foot of Tomaree Mountain, a few minutes’ drive from the popular coastal town of Shoal Bay, and just 2.5hr drive from Sydney.

We will leave Sydney on Friday afternoon and drive to Port Stephens (approx, 3 hours). We will stay in accommodation overnight on Friday and then do the walk on Saturday. We will stay overnight at the same accommodation on Saturday night and head home on Sunday at our leisure.

This is a Grade 3 - 4 (moderate) walk, mainly because of the length of the track, 27km. Most of the terrain is flat and gentle with some short steep hills in places. The 1 km climb up to Tomaree Head Summit is steep but short. In some sections you’ll be walking across sandy beaches and coastal rock platforms. The trail offers a mix of sealed paths, grassed tracks and beach walking. We will be stopping for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and a swim.
