MT SOLITARY VIA THE RUINED CASTLE

Mt Solitary is an isolated sandstone plateau, easily visible from Echo Point, that stands alone in the Jamison Valley below Katoomba. From its flat top there are excellent views of Narrow Neck and the Jamison Valley, as well as south to Lake Burragorang.
Drive to Katoomba Friday afternoon (July 24) to stay overnight at the YHA in the centre of Katoomba.
Our adventure starts bright and early at 4.30am Saturday July 25 with the sunrise summit of The Ruined Castle. Then we trek along the trail to summit Mt Solitary arriving around 4pm.

First Aid and Navigation by 2 qualified Fittrek leaders (Lisa & Rozzie)
Satellite communicator with GPS and two-way communicator

Food on Friday, Saturday night and Sunday.

WHAT TO BRING
Minimum 3L water
Water bladder/water bottle(s)
Rain gear (just in case)
Extra layers – it will be cold
Comfortable hiking shoes (tested and worn in)
Light weight towel
Personal medication/first aid (a more extensive first aid kit will be carried by coach Roz)
Head torch with spare batteries
Optional/weather dependent – hiking poles, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, binoculars, camera
Any cancellations within 30 days will forfeit 20% of the total cost
